In most situations, an audio interface is integral to any home recording setup, and if you spend any time at all making music on a PC or Mac you’ll want to grab yourself one. As it was explained to me it is down to implementation of the authorisation within SONAR that causes the problem though that did come from Arturia not Cakewalk.Getting hold of one of the best audio interfaces is one of the most important moves you can make as a home producer.

As to the VST3 problem any other VST3's I have installed work fine it is only the Arturia VST3's that cause a problem. It does not take long I did it took about half an hour. In your case I would do as Bristol_Jonesy suggests remove them then using the new licencing tool reinstall making sure you, make a backup of any patches you have made then a, uncheck the installs for the VST3 and any other formats you do not need. Yes I have the V3 Collection as well as the V4 the installation basically overwrote the V3 install.

OK, they do work in stand-alone mode, but I would like to use them with Sonar. I am a bit disappointed with Arturia, (or is in Sonar's Fault!), because I bought V Collection 4 specifically for Solina and Matrix 12V as I owned all the others!

If you did, did you install V Collection 4 on top, or did you uninstall V Collection 3 first. I did this and Solina disappeared from the VST3 list in Sonar, but didn't appear in the VST2 list! Where "n" is the drive letter of your installation disk It appears to be a very nice synth, inbetween the crackles and pops it seems to have some very good presets and there is plenty of scope for the directory computer\local disk ("n")\program files\common files\vst 3\ I will give it another go when I am back home and can try it on my DAW. The Matrix 12 does not run well on the old laptop I am using for testing. The Vox seems to sound a lot better than the freebee it originated form, I much prefer the Hammond sound and the Vox and Farfisa in NI's Vintage Organs or Hollow Sun's Vox are more than adiquate for my transistor organ needs. Of course if you have some decent effects to drop into Sonar's FX bin/pro channel you can probably reproduce much of what is going on here. The dedicated effects do a beter job than the Kontakt effects utalised by Hollow Sun's string synths. This is helped by the addition of the Vox Humana sound and the resonators section, aided by effects. The Solina V seems suprisingly versatile and the presets offer a much broader pallet than I was expecting. They are nice but at at 149 euros (half as much again as I paid for original V collection) I will pass because I have the ground covered quite well already. I have been playing around with the demos.
